My name is Ian Eyre and I am a lecturer, technical writer, and trainer.
I have been playing around with computers for over thirty years and have been a very keen hobbyist of learning all things tech during this time.
Academically, I have a computer science degree as well as a range of professional-level certifications in Cisco networking, Microsoft client and server products, Oracle database design/programming, cloud technologies, and, of course, programming. I have completed the three current Python certifications at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.
I have been interested in Python since attending a very poor training course a few years ago. Despite this, the course did enable me to see Python’s potential. I have since used the language to write data extraction and conversion routines to transfer it between different systems. I have also used Python in network data capture and analysis.
More recently I have produced a range of Python tutorials in the field of data analysis to promote learning and understanding. I have also written course descriptors and assessments for our national examinations body, as well as contributed to national course design and its implementation.
I consider myself fortunate to have worked in education for nearly twenty years, which means I get to spend my time teaching my hobby to others. Indeed, your hobby may well be the reason why you are considering taking a course with us.
I would hope that my enthusiasm will rub off on you if give me the privilege of training you.
